Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and paddi ("paddi", "we", "us") covering your use of the paddi mobile app and paddiapp.com (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use paddi. By creating an account you represent that you are 18 or older and that the information you provide is accurate and yours.

2. What paddi is (and is not)

paddi helps you discover potential roommates, groups, and places; message and connect with them; form a shared household ("pad"); and keep an informal record of shared expenses. paddi is a venue only:

• We are not a party to any roommate arrangement, lease, sublease, or payment between users, and we do not broker, own, or manage housing.
• We do not screen users or run background, credit, or identity checks. You are responsible for vetting anyone you meet through paddi.
• The household ledger is informational only. paddi is not a bank, money transmitter, or payment processor and never holds funds. Settle-up links open Venmo, a third-party service governed by its own terms; payments (and any disputes about them) are strictly between you and the other user.

3. Your account

Keep your sign-in credentials secure — you are responsible for activity on your account. You may delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Account → Delete account). One account per person; accounts are not transferable.

4. Community rules — zero tolerance

paddi has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You agree not to:

• harass, threaten, stalk, defame, or discriminate against anyone, including on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or familial status (fair-housing principles apply to how you describe who you're looking for);
• post content that is unlawful, hateful, pornographic, violent, or that exploits or harms anyone;
• impersonate anyone, misrepresent your identity or a listing, or post fraudulent listings;
• use the Service to scam, phish, solicit money from, or spam other users, or for any commercial brokerage;
• attempt to access data that is not yours, probe or disrupt the Service, scrape it, or reverse engineer it;
• circumvent safety features such as blocking, or create accounts to evade a suspension.

Enforcement. You can report any user or listing from the "⋯" menu and block anyone instantly. We review reports and act on objectionable content within 24 hours, including removing content and ejecting the users responsible. We may suspend or terminate accounts at our discretion to protect the community, with or without notice.

5. Safety

Meeting people from the internet carries risk. Meet first in public places, tell someone where you are going, never send money to someone you have not met, and independently verify any listing, lease, and identity before committing or paying anything. Exact addresses are shared only within a household — do not share yours with people you have not vetted.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you post (photos, bio, messages, listings). You grant paddi a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and transmit that content solely to operate and improve the Service. You are responsible for having the rights to what you post (e.g., photos of a listing). We may remove content that violates these Terms.

7. License to use the app

We grant you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the paddi app on devices you own or control, in accordance with these Terms and the app-store rules through which you obtained it (for Apple devices, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies). The Service, including its design, code, and branding, belongs to paddi and its licensors.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT USERS OR LISTINGS ARE WHO OR WHAT THEY CLAIM TO BE, THAT MATCHES WILL BE COMPATIBLE, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE. COMPATIBILITY SCORES ARE ESTIMATES, NOT PROMISES.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PADDI WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY DISPUTE, LOSS, OR DAMAGE ARISING FROM INTERACTIONS OR ARRANGEMENTS BETWEEN USERS (INCLUDING HOUSING ARRANGEMENTS AND PAYMENTS). OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF US$100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Indemnity

You will indemnify and hold paddi harmless from claims arising out of your content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.

11. Termination

You may stop using paddi or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect users or the Service. Sections 6–13 survive termination.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

13. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms; for material changes we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect, and continued use after that constitutes acceptance. Questions: support@paddiapp.com.
